The Lake Wedding

Allen (Mike's younger brother) and Michelle chose this spot for their wedding. It was beautiful. They reserved the area for the whole weekend so we got to play on Sat. during the day. The weather was perfect!
They had all 4 cabins reserved so we got to stay in one Sat. night since we came so far. We took a few rides out on the paddle boats. The kids loved it and we loved the peace and tranquility. Connor fell asleep twice! The little girl is our niece Sarah.
This is another Brandt family-Patrick, Julie, Samuel, Sarah, and you can't see baby Jed. (He'll show up later.) Here is the handsome Brandt family sporting their tuxedos. Can you see my little belly?!
Connor looked very cute in his suit. This was actually a last minute save by my sister-in-law. I had shopped everywhere for dark pants but found nothing. Luckily she had saved this suit from when Samuel was little-almost 7 years ago! It was a miracle how well it fit too!

This is our niece Sarah. She was one of the flower girls and was very excited about her job.

Here are the handsome young men concentrating on being good ring bearers! I didn't get a good picture of the five brothers in their tuxedos, so I'll have to get that from someone and put it in later.

Michelle looked really beautiful in her dress and she was so happy. So was Allen.

Isn' t that a beautiful wedding party?! I realized that it's hard to be at a wedding when you're pregnant-I cried the whole time! It was a wonderful ceremony.

This is our newest nephew baby Jed. (Sarah and Samuel's little brother.)

Connor just couldn't make it through all the festivities. He crashed shortly after dinner on Nanny. The nice thing was that when it got too late for the boys, we took them up to our room and came back down to dance the night away! (There were other adults up there in case anything was wrong.)

One exciting moment that happened at the beginning of the reception-a bat flew into the building! A minute later we saw Michelle (the bride) come out of the kitchen with a wooden cutting board! Luckily for the bat it found its way outside again without getting beaten!

This was a weekend that we really needed, and we are grateful to Allen and Michelle for allowing us to stay at the cabin to relax. Meals were taken care of by various family members. We enjoyed being away from phones (no cell phone reception either!), computers, appts., household projects, and lots of other things that distract us from just relaxing and being together as a family. Thanks to everyone who made it such a great weekend. And Allen and Michelle, I hope you had the time of your life and will always look back on your wedding with fond memories.

gardens

I just love having a garden. I didn't do hardly anything this year, but my mom and dad helped plant some tomato and pepper plants. There is nothing better than a vine ripe (and organic!) tomato! Next year I plan to go all out again. The kids really love it too.

Baseball, breadsticks, and... Fishing?

Jamie and Andy took us to a York Revolution baseball game on Fri. the 13th. The weather was beautiful and it was nice to be with friends and without kids. At each game, they pick a player from the opposing team. If the pitcher strikes him out, the entire stadium gets free breadsticks from Pizza Hut. This was the guy, and guess what, he struck out! Yeah for us! Sad for him. Hayden spent the night at Gram and Pap's house, then went fishing the next morning on Pap's boat. He caught 3 fish! (More than Pap!) He was so excited and we were so proud of him.
